Amber Ortolano: 15 year old photographer.

Amber is a self-taught photographer living in New York State with a profound ability to create powerful images. Her photographs explore concepts, color, texture, and powerfully refined details in layering. She utilizes only natural light, indoors and outside. Although she is young, she is no stranger to the photographic process and has become well known in online communities such as Flickr and Tumblr and this past year she even published a book of her photography.

Her work has a delicate, intriguing quality that fully locks viewers in and holds them there until she gets her desired message across. The whimsical, dream-like atmosphere has a vintage feel brought in to a modern light. However, I think the greatest lesson we as photographers can learn from her is not necessarily from her abilities but from her humble attitude and willingness to create. No matter what your hurdle, wether it be age, transportation, monetary costs, or even lack of motivation, you should do everything in your power to clear it.  Amber is proof that perseverance combined with passion can lead to astounding works of art.

This makes me so happy.
